My Bible Study is currently unpacking The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst. If you want to learn more about this study, click on the picture above.
As soon as I glanced at the cover, these words grabbed my attention:
"I'm a little overwhelmed and a lot worn out."
Yes ma'am! That is exactly how I am feeling!
During our first group discussion we were asked to describe our schedule based on the following statements:
- Time to spare. I am mostly unscheduled and have quite a bit of discretionary time.
- Time accessible. I am lightly scheduled and have a fair amount of discretionary time.
- Time enough. I have a good balance between scheduled commitments and discretionary time.
- Time limited. I am heavily scheduled and have little discretionary time.
- Time shortage. I am overscheduled and very rarely have discretionary time.
I definitely needed to do some Priority Processing! I was anxious to dig in and find out what my Best Yes would be...
"A Best Yes is you playing your part. If you know it and believe it, you'll live it."
Oh Lord! You never cease to amaze and surprise me!!!
I was gearing up to start clearing my calendar and practicing my Best No, which I will still need to do, but very clearly and quite loudly I knew God was asking me to use my Best Yes to write. I love writing and I love being part of a community, so blogging has always been a great fit. But I'm not a great time manager, and I was trying to fit writing into my "free time" which I never have because I don't manage my time!
But this blog is my "soul thing" - "that God-honoring endeavor that keeps slipping away because there's been no time to set aside and actually start."
So, what's your Best Yes? What's your "soul thing?" What are you going to do?
